I am currently struggling with a major problem that affects not only my life but thousands of others, and that is accessing much-needed medication refills for mental health without having insurance. I suffer from anxiety and depression and, without my medication, everyday functioning turns into a daunting task. Unfortunately, my health is compromised because I cannot afford regular visits to the doctor's office just for a prescription refill.

This predicament is a distressing reality for many Americans who live without adequate health insurance. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 30 million Americans were uninsured in 2020. Many of them, like me, face significant hurdles in obtaining life-saving medications, such as heart medication, without the financial means to cover doctor's visits.

Telehealth and remote consultations could serve as viable solutions and have already proven effective during the COVID-19 pandemic.
