Alleviate Poverty in India

The Issue

India, home to 1.3 billion people, is grappling with a significant poverty issue. Despite being one of the fastest-growing economies globally, approximately 22% of its population still lives below the poverty line (World Bank). This means that nearly 270 million individuals are struggling to meet their basic needs every day. The situation is further exacerbated by income inequality and lack of access to quality education and healthcare.

The government has made efforts to combat this issue; however, more needs to be done. We urge the Indian government and international organizations to prioritize poverty alleviation in India by implementing sustainable economic policies, improving access to quality education and healthcare services, promoting skill development programs for employability enhancement, and ensuring social security for all citizens.
