I graduated from APCS in 2013 with honors. In a small class of 30, as we all walked across that stage, I remember a moment. A moment where we all looked at eachother and spoke with only our eyes. “We made it.”. Allen Park Community High School has not only given me and my sister a chance to become successful, but families for the last 25 years. It deeply saddens me to think that the city does not recognize what good this school has brought to the children and their community. Stand with me today to support me in fighting for a child’s “last chance”, a more one-on-one experience, a safe place, a family to which they have never known, teacher’s who go that extra mile, staff that care about more then a paycheck, and an opportunity to make something of yourself when you never thought it was an option.
