In light of the chaotic situation of COVID-19, I urge universities across the U.K. to cancel exams and assignments. With “alternative assessments” being offered, this cannot cater to all students many who come from various backgrounds and will never live up to the standard examination procedures taken.

Students are being urged to return to their homes and are expected to submit assignments, dissertations and revise for exams with minimal resources available to them. Many students do not have the facilities and resources e.g. library books, softwares, Wi-fi to cater to the expectations of the “alternative assessments” being offered. Providing online “alternative assessments” will not enable a level playing field for students who come from various environments and put many at a disadvantage in light of the chaos. I urge every uni student to support this cause and demand more from our private institutions that we pay for!
