It’s been nearly a decade since I walked across this vast land, fighting for the closure of forced communities and the provision for the homeless. I gave up my home and job, standing up for what's right by myself, defending over 250 communities in Western Australia. I've been proud of my efforts, fighting for justice and recognition of the indigenous plight in our wonderful land. Yet today, I find myself compelled once more to stand up against a great injustice—one that threatens to destroy sacred indigenous lands for the sake of mere sports entertainment.

All First Nations Traditional Owner groups here in the WA 110 country and across Australia are against the new Olympic Stadium being built at its current proposed location. We do not just want to stop the construction; we are asking that it be built somewhere else. The chosen site is a highly sacred area of deep Lore, not only for the Turrbal people but also as a traditional gathering place. Barrambin (Victoria Park) is where all the different First Nations country groups of that area have always come together for meetings, Lore, and ceremonies.

It was here that the Rainbow Serpent, Kabul, travelled through the landscape and created the river to bring fresh water. Furthermore, the reason this area is known as the "place of wind" is because it is the sacred site where the Seven Sisters jumped into the sky to escape the warrior. The Barrambin (Victoria Park) songline connects all the way west to the Pilbara region, where the very first Lore began.

We ask that the stadium be built somewhere else. If the decision goes ahead and this stadium is built on such a high-Lore sacred site, the ground will be cursed, and many bad things will happen to the people who enter it. Please, build it somewhere else.

The proposed Olympic stadium planned for construction at Barrambin, also known as Victoria Park in Brisbane, threatens to desecrate a site of immense cultural, spiritual, and historical significance to the Turrbal and Yuggera People. This land is not merely a site for activities; it's a sacred ground where the Seven Sisters ascended to the sky, a story of spiritual significance that tells of a warrior and a mystical journey.

It's where the Rainbow Sea Serpent carved paths with life-giving waters, sustaining the Turrbal people for countless generations. This land is as alive with history and spiritual vitality as it is crucial to the identity and tradition of its original custodians.

The decision by the Queensland state government, with backing from the federal administration under Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, to build a stadium on this sacred site, is not just inconsiderate—it's a deep wound to all Indigenous Australians and those who value cultural heritage. It's a painful echo of the historical disregard our ancestors faced, something we cannot let pass.

Development does not have to equate to destruction. We must seek alternatives that respect indigenous lands and culture. There are vast opportunities across Brisbane for this development that do not involve desecrating sacred sites.

I urge the community, stakeholders, and those in positions of power to consider the irreversible damage this decision would cause. Join me in standing against this injustice, preserving the spiritual and cultural integrity of Barrambin for current and future generations.
