Align Benefits for Limited Capability Workers with Minimum Wage Increases

The Issue

My personal story is one of many. I receive limited capability for work and work-related activities due to my disability. What this means is that, while the rest of the population has the opportunity to benefit from increases in the minimum wage, I remain locked in a financial status quo that does not match inflation or the standard of living. I'm not alone. Tens of thousands of disabled people like myself, who have limited capability to work, comprise a section of the UK workforce that is equally affected. According to the Office for National Statistics, around 3.7 million disabled people were in employment in the UK in 2019. We are calling on the government to raise the benefits provided for those of us who have limited capabilities for work and work-related activities, to align with the increases in the minimum wage. This is not just a matter of financial fairness, but a critical step towards equality and dignity for all citizens, irrespective of their health condition or disability. Please support our cause and sign this petition, urging the government to immediately revise the benefit scheme to ensure it complies with minimum wage increases.
