Greetings supporters of representative government and fellow protectors of our community!
After a show of support from our Alderman against LUCHA's plan to install a cellular antenna cluster on top of their building, we have heard nothing from LUCHA!
The Alderman has repeatedly stated that LUCHA would hold a community meeting before an installation could occur. We haven't heard anything from LUCHA about a community meeting.
We came up with a set of reasonable guidelines to make sure that we as neighbors retain control of the meeting and keep it civilized, productive. LUCHA agreed to follow these guidelines, one of which was to give us a two week notice during which time we will organize, plan, and we will overcome!
We have facts and reports, articles and statistics that not only point toward an increased long-term negative health affect, but also shows a direct correlation between wireless antenna installations and widespread disinterest in moving to or renting in a neighborhood that has wireless infrastructure in close proximity. This means lower property values.
With property taxes rising for many of us, if one building that already benefits from tax exemptions creates a situation where our property values are lowered, that is simply unfair and unacceptable.
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, and do not forget about our fight! If you have any question about Corporations doing things that harm us and the environment in which we have a right to prosper, read the 1962 book that inspired the formation of the EPA, Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring."
When LUCHA decides they are up to the fight, we need to all band together and voice our concerns at the community meeting. Your presence at the community meeting is necessary. Don't think that someone else will do it for you. We all have to be there and let our chorus of voices be heard and we will not be dominated or pushed around by the Corporations or LUCHA.
Thank you good neighbors. Let's continue to encourage LUCHA to be a good neighbor.
Happy Spring!
