Several oil and gas companies have been named as potential stakeholders in the upcoming Alberta K-12 curriculum redesign (including Suncor Energy Inc. and Syncrude Canada Ltd). In addition tech giant Apple and textbook companies have also been named. Allowing private corporations to have an influence on the education of our youth sets a dangerous precedent. Please do not engage these partnerships. Allow education professionals to do their job in the interest of the students of Alberta. Private companies should not be involved in the curriculum redesign.
