Those using insulin pumps need this device to deliver the insulin to live. Inconsistent approaches to screening across different airports causes unnecessary anxiety and concern whilst travelling, and significantly increases the risk of serious health problems – such as too high blood glucose in the short term which, over time, can lead to longer term health problems such as heart disease, kidney disease and amputations.
