Member of Parliament, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh in her speech today at the Upper House, the Rajya Sabha spoke about how culture in general and classical artists in particular, are being ignored and do not have a strong voice. She uses the example of how Air India broke my sitar and instead of apologising for it it, they are telling me that I should buy an extra seat to make sure my instrument is safe!!! Not only that, Air India is now hiding behind the rule that I was supposed to open my Sitar before I left JFK and give a written complaint when it was damaged. Of course, I know this rule too but if they are insinuating that I am lying, then they have chosen a wrong candidate!!!

Rise artists Rise. Lets all rise as one. We should no longer take this highhandedness that is being thrown at our face by the airlines. Our voice may be not such a financially powerful one but it is a very strong one and cannot be ignored anymore. More power to artists all over the world.
