Air Reruns of "Sit Down, Shut Up" on FXX

The Issue

"Sit Down, Shut Up" holds a special place in my heart, and for many others as well. This American adult animated television series developed by Mitchell Hurwitz for Fox, sheds a humorous light on a group of high school teachers in a small Florida town "who don't care about teaching". Despite the uniqueness of its storytelling and its innovative sense of humor, it was cancelled due to low ratings.

Premiered on 4/19/2009, it only aired four episodes before Fox, unfortunately, removed the show from its block. The remaining nine episodes had a demoted slot, airing at midnight on Saturdays later in the year, and the show was cancelled entirely on 11/21/2009. This series deserves better.

We must insist Walt Disney Company, the current rights holder, allow FXX to air reruns of "Sit Down, Shut Up". Its brief lifespan doesn't negate its value. Airing reruns would give audiences a chance to rediscover this gem, and provide new viewers an opportunity to enjoy its unconventional comedic narrative that many of us adore.

Let's stand for quality animation and unique storytelling. Please join this cause and urge The Walt Disney Company to give "Sit Down, Shut Up" another chance on FXX. To quote the series itself, it's time to "Sit Down, Stand Up" for the show we love. Sign the petition now.
