The air we breathe -step up with Peshawar Clean Air Alliance for a healthier environment
Why this petition matters

Peshawar is currently ranked as the fifth most polluted city in the country, with unhealthy air quality days increasing every year. An overwhelming evidence of negative health impacts is observed as number of patients showing symptoms of respiratory illnesses, heart failures, dementia and premature deaths is increasing at hospitals across the city and countrywide.
This situation calls for a public health emergency requiring immediate action by the government through effective policy-making and a pragmatic approach towards implementation of measures to mitigate air pollution.
The Peshawar Clean Air Alliance is a volunteer association of civil society individuals and groups sharing a common vision of improving Peshawar’s air quality. We aim to provide systemic support in identifying the major polluters, spatial coverage of pollutants, health and environmental impacts as well as research on strategies to curtail emissions. This is the first of our efforts against air pollution in the country, and we wish to expand it to other cities in future, with your kind support.
Hand in hand with healthcare professionals, trade associations, chambers of commerce, elected representatives, educational/ research institutions, lawyers, industry representatives, philanthropists, NGOs - and you, the citizens of the beautiful city of Peshawar.
Let's bring back the beauty of the city as we long to see the mountains of Peshawar valley again!
