Solve Cold Case Murder of Comanche Resident Mary Morgan Pewitt from 26 Years ago

The Issue

I’m writing to ask that you conduct a "NEW" and thorough investigation and submit DNA crime scene evidence from the 1988 Mary Morgan Pewitt murder for testing. This could likely put the person/s responsible behind bars and give her family and friends closure.

As elected and hired representatives for Stephens County citizens, you are charged with seeking justice and up-holding the law.  We rely on you to do your best to solve crimes and protect us from daily harm.

Please do the right thing and put forth your best efforts in working together on solving Mary’s crime.

26 YEAR Unsolved Murder

 JUSTICE FOR MARY MORGAN PEWITT

On June 4, 1988, 25 year-old mother of two young daughters, Mary Morgan Pewitt, was stabbed over 30 times in her own home. Law enforcement from Comanche Police Department and the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene after Mary’s mother discovered her early that morning at 6:30 am.

We understand that as investigations go, cases switch hands, get turned over to other officers now on duty, then the OSBI is called for assistance. Ray Homer, an OSBI agent in Lawton, took over investigating the crime but has been retired for years. But, the investigation wasn’t completed.  To-date, no one has been held or charged with this crime.  Until recently this case has sat on a shelf collecting dust for 5 to 7 yeras.   What happened to Mary could happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere.  She wasn't just murdered she was butchered and slaughtered.

Mary’s killer could be walking freely in or near our schools, homes, businesses, standing in line next to our children, playing on playgrounds and could be eating at the next table from us in our local restaurants.

Please sign this petition and ask District Attorney Hicks, the Comanche Police Dept., Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the SWOSBI to continue with this investigation and get the criminal behind bars.

We also want this case considered/submitted for the Reward Program.

Sincerely,
