Entire Vancouver area has very few beaches with enough parking for families to enjoy! Kitsilano's Jericho and Locarno Beach areas are the only area with free accessible parking where people come to relax and enjoy nature. 

New regulation by the city of Vancouver enforced paid parking along the banks of Locarno and Jericho beach areas in Kitsilano. The last remaining area to have free parking for families is gone. It now costs $4 PER HOUR (6pm -10pm) to view the sunset and $1 per hour for the remainder (until 6 pm).

If you wish to petition against paying for parking in the last remaining area in Kitsilano with free access to the ocean side- sign petition which will be presented to the city of Vancouver in August 2024. 

This is a pilot program which means that no other public park or area are safe from it. Next time, you want to have a walk along the water- think about what it costs you.
