affordable Housing for single mothers & Fathers with children !

The Issue

Where is the social housing gone , where is the housing for single parents with children at affordable rates ?

According to the most recent government council taxbase figures released in November 2022, there are 257,331 homes in England that are classed as long-term empty homes. This means that they have been left vacant for more than six months.

I've recently become homeless due to no fault of my own , for 2 years prior to being made homeless , i was searching daily for properties online , dSS is not accepted anymore and the estate agents that say they accept , do but with potholes that single mothers can't fill , as you need to be earning a high amount of money to even been accepted , then you also need a guarantor who possibly needs to also be a homeowner .

what properties can single mothers rent with these hurdles to cross , it is not viable for a mother on benefits and disability to receive the amount they request , their for we are not accepted

I am now homeless , and have been staying in a hotel with my 3 kids , no cooking facility's , no microwave and no fridge , the council cannot even find housing for us as their is none in my price range

we need the local housing allowance to match the rental market and not discriminate against family's on low income !

Stop selling off social housing and provide property's at a rate that is affordable

we need immediate action on this subject as I know of many family's like my self homeless and living in considerably bad conditions as we cannot find anything to rent !

Our housing system has been hijacked by big companies and rich landlords using it for personal gain. Letting agents are exploiting the #CostOfLivingCrisis to artificially inflate rents, pushing us out of our homes.

A #RentFreezeNow would put an end to the millions of unfair rent rises, and bring us closer to a housing system designed around everybody's right to a decent home.
