Advocating for increased support and development in Bushbuckridge.
The Issue
I am reaching out today because I am part of the youth in Bushbuckridge and Acornhoek, deeply affected by the numerous challenges plaguing our communities. Every day, I witness the struggles of my peers as we seek educational opportunities and gainful employment, only to be met with closed doors and silence from those meant to lead us. Institutions like Mapulaneng College remain closed, leaving countless students like myself with shattered dreams and uncertain futures. It's not just about our education; it's about the future of our families and our entire community. The lack of development and support in our area is crushing the spirit of the young people here, driving them to hopelessness and despair.
Our councillors have been repeatedly failing us. While we continue to suffer in silence, our voices remain unheard. The unemployment rate is staggering, and the young people of Bushbuckridge feel abandoned, as if our struggles are invisible. The youth are craving change, opportunities, and a chance to build a better life. This can no longer be ignored.
We urgently need action. The government and relevant stakeholders must intervene to reopen institutions like Mapulaneng College. Creating more job opportunities, offering skills development programs, and providing accessible higher education can revitalize our community. Empowering the youth of Bushbuckridge is not merely an option—it is a necessity if we want to uplift and transform our society.
I am urging the concerned authorities to heed our call for help and to take immediate steps to foster development and prosperity in Bushbuckridge and Acornhoek. We cannot afford any more delays; our youth's future depends on it. We must work together for lasting change and ensure that our voices are no longer ignored. Please sign this petition to support our cause and demand the positive change that Bushbuckridge urgently needs.
