Our daughter, along with numerous other African American students, attend Spring Ridge Middle School in Lexington Park, MD. We have observed and experienced firsthand the negative impact of certain teachers and administrators on our children's education. The quality of education and the nurturing environment that should be present in schools is being compromised.

According to data from the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (2014), African American students are three times more likely to be expelled or suspended than their white peers. This disparity is not only alarming but also indicative of systemic issues within our educational institutions that need immediate attention.

We believe that a change in staff could bring about significant improvements in our school's atmosphere and educational outcomes. It is crucial to have educators who understand and respect cultural diversity, promote inclusivity, and are dedicated to providing all students with equal opportunities for success.
