The issue

I am a private individual with a heartfelt request. This matter is crucial to me, not out of worry or concern, purely because I sincerely crave freedom for these noble creatures. I want the inhabitants of Copenhagen Zoo, specifically Noel and Inuvik, the two polar bears, to taste the freedom of the wide world outside their enclosure. The mere thought of these majestic creatures being bound by the limitations of an unnatural habitat brings a twinge to my heart.

Bear Island in Svalbard is a place they should be calling home. It is a natural habitat where polar bears can roam free, hunt and live a fulfilling life. Specifically, the conditions present in Bear Island, Svalbard, are ideal for polar bears with its cold temperatures, substantial sea ice available for hunting, and remote location encouraging minimal human interaction (source: WWF Global).

Notably, polar bears are listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature(IUCN), primarily due to the ongoing and potential loss of their sea-ice habitat resulting from climate change. Polar bears are crucial for the ecosystems they inhabit, and their well-being is a significant indicator of the overall health of the Arctic (source: National Geographic).

This is not just my heartfelt wish; this is a global cause to maintain the balance and beauty of nature. Therefore, I plea to Copenhagen Zoo to consider rehabilitating and releasing Noel and Inuvik to their natural environment in Bear Island, Svalbard. This change will not only mean a better life for these individual bears, but it also signifies our commitment to the conservation of this species and their habitats.

Join me in calling for the freedom of Noel and Inuvik. Please sign this petition.
