Our children, the pride of our lives and the future of our society, deserve a welcoming and secure space for learning, engaging in casual chats, and playing games with peers. Yet our children at Morang South Primary School are currently trapped in an environment that can hardly be called conducive to learning: a school where extreme behaviors of one among them dictate the operational routines.

Unpredictable situations range from school lockdowns to abrupt requests for students to return to their classrooms during lunch breaks. In some cases, the children even had to evacuate their classrooms entirely, creating a hostile atmosphere for learning. Such disruptive situations severely affect the emotional wellbeing and academic progress of our children.

Statistics from the National Center for Education (2019) reveal that a safe and supportive school environment significantly contributes to a student's academic success. The adverse conditions currently prevailing in our school erode that feeling of safety and support.

Our appeal is straight forward and two-fold. Firstly, we demand that the school authorities ensure strict adherence to school safety protocols that prioritize the wellbeing of every student over any other considerations.

Secondly, the voices and genuine concerns of our children should be recognized and given due attention. This is not just about our children feeling safe and secure, but also about them knowing that their opinions matter and are considered in shaping their learning environment.
