As a majority of the students at the University West of England (UWE), we rely heavily on the bus services to travel to and from the campus. Over recent years, we have been burdened with skyrocketing bus fares, making this mode of transport an increasing strain on our pockets. Understanding the economic challenges of being a student, affordable transport is a necessity, not a luxury. Moreover, accuracy and transparency in the First Bus app, which we heavily depend on for scheduling our travel, is equally important. A misinformed app harms our ability to plan our days, often resulting in us reaching late for our lectures. Our trust in the service is diminishing as buses we planned on boarding end up being full- an aspect that is never displayed in the app.

We urge the UWE Board to acknowledge these problems and step in to negotiate lower bus prices and improved clarity in the First Bus app. It is integral that the board considers the student body's welfare and ensures that we have access to affordable and reliable transport options.
