Our cherished Snodgrass Trail, vital for our community's recreation and wellbeing, faces closure for roughly half of its natural season. This unfortunate limitation arises due to some portions of the trail traversing private land, where the landowner restricts public access during the last two weeks of August, September, and October. The trail is not just a path, it is an integral part of our community fabric, providing a space for healthy outdoor activities and enjoyment. Rerouting the trail shall ensure spring, summer, and fall accessibility to the community. It has been proven time and again that access to recreational spaces such as trails, promote well-being among community members (American Hiking Society, 2017). Thus, we urge you to join this crucial movement of advocating for a Snodgrass Trail reroute. Let us ensure that our trail is accessible throughout spring, summer, and fall.
