The private land section comprises about 18% of the entire trail. On August 25, the private section was closed for “cattle grazing operations,” yet as of September 10, no cattle are grazing. This scenario has been repeated over many years. Proposed compromises over the closure date and arrival of the cattle have been rejected. This is no longer acceptable; the trail must be moved to public land.
