In just a few days, 130+ community members have already signed, asking District 71 to adopt clear and consistent Ramadan accommodation policies for students.

Our request is simple: clear communication to families, privacy for students, respectful guidance for staff, and consistent implementation across classrooms, lunch supervision, and Physical Education.

These measures help ensure that students observing Ramadan can participate in school with dignity and without pressure or stigma, while also giving staff clear expectations for how to support them.

Over the next week, we will continue sharing information about why clear policies matter and encouraging community members to add their support before the District 71 Board of Education meeting on March 24.
