The upswing in GCSE grade boundaries in recent years has contributed significantly to student stress and mental health concerns without a corresponding increase in the understanding or knowledge of class content. Current students of the class of 2024 are disproportionately affected as grade boundaries continue to escalate. This petition advocates for adjusting the grade boundaries for the class of 2024's GCSE exams to match those of the 2020's to correspond with the level of difficulty and course content. Following the disruption to in-person learning due to COVID-19, this will fairly mirror the academic experience of previous cohorts. The class of 2020 experienced similar disruptions but did not face heightened grade boundaries. Let's support our class of 2024 students and bring back the fairness in our testing system.
