I am a parent with two young children living at the Budget 8 Inn in Indianapolis, Indiana. The conditions we are subjected to at this establishment are not only unacceptable but also pose significant health risks to us and all residents. My foremost concern is the potential involvement of Child Protective Services due to the neglectful environment we are forcibly living in—something no parent should ever have to fear.

Every day, we are plagued by rodents in our rooms, and the presence of mold is not just contained to walls but is found on shower curtains too. These conditions are breeding grounds for bacteria and allergens that could seriously impact the health of my children and others living here. As tenants, we have a right to a safe and healthy environment, but unfortunately, this is not being honored.

Additionally, we face punitive charges just to seek better rooms within the inn; a $10 fee is imposed by management if we wish to relocate to a cleaner room. On top of this, management often locks us out of our rooms without any prior notification if rent is due, only readmitting us once payments are up-to-date. This practice causes unnecessary stress and uncertainty, rendering us homeless until the issue is resolved.

Moreover, we have discovered that our payment receipts are being printed on employee paperwork, which raises concerns about the legitimacy and professionalism of the hotel's operations. This not only reflects poorly on the management but could also raise legal issues concerning tenant rights and receipt authenticity.

Residents of the Budget 8 Inn should not have to contend with such mistreatment and unsanitary conditions. We deserve respect, dignity, and above all, safe living conditions. I am reaching out to local housing authorities, health departments, and community leaders to inspect and address these dire situations immediately.

Implement rigorous inspections and legal actions where necessary to compel the management of Budget 8 Inn to rectify these issues.
