On 4 sept 2025, during breakfast at the mess , a cockroach was found in the sambar. This horrifying incident is not an isolated event. Just a few days ago, we encountered the same issue with pasta. Furthermore, we face persistent problems such as detergent residue on plates, hair in our food, and the presence of other insects. These unsanitary conditions have even led to incidents of food poisoning among students. 

The alarming state of hygiene in the IGDTUW hostel mess demands immediate attention and resolution. Students residing in Delhi, India deserve clean and safe food. We, as students, are subjected to these appalling conditions daily, which not only affects our health but also our peace of mind. Continuous exposure to unhygienic food poses severe health risks and compromises our well-being.

Educational institutions hold the responsibility of providing a safe and healthy environment for their students. It is imperative for the administration of IGDTUW to take urgent steps to ensure the food served in the hostel mess is hygienic and safe for consumption. Regular inspections should be conducted to maintain the cleanliness and safety standards of the food provided.

We urge the relevant authorities to implement stringent hygiene practices and monitor food quality. Ensuring the health and safety of students should be prioritized immediately.
