For three years, the bright lights from the solar field/ transformers next door (at the corner of Yucaipa Street and Phillips Road) have been ruining our outdoor evenings in our backyards.  The Kern County dark sky ordinance (section 19.81 of the Kern County Zoning Ordinance) exists to protect residents from such disturbances, yet it has been blatantly violated. Additionally, for the past six months there has been a buzzing noise in the evenings ( § 8.36.020 Prohibited sounds.) This is not just an inconvenience; it is affecting our quality of life, health, and property value. We demand immediate action to address this issue and restore the quiet dark starry sky in our community. Please sign this petition to support a complaint.
