As a dedicated employee in one of NYC's major corporations, I am among the 400,000+ New Jersey residents being negatively impacted daily by the ongoing failures of the NJ Transit and Amtrak Commuter Rail systems. Our commute, essential to our livelihood and NYC's economy, is plagued by constant issues. New Jersey residents contribute approximately $4 billion annually to NYC, an economic contribution that is imperiled by the untenable situation we commuters face.

New Jersey Transit is one of America's busiest rail systems, yet it consistently fails to fulfill its basic promise of transporting commuters efficiently to and from their place of work. These inefficiencies pose a threat to our livelihoods, forcing many to contemplate finding employment within the state thereby significantly reducing our contribution to NYC's economy. We need systemic, expedient change to protect both our personal and financial wellbeing.

By addressing the issues within the NJ Transit and Amtrak systems, the commuting experience will be greatly improved, retaining New Jersey's vital economic contribution to NYC, and ensuring a balanced work-life experience for us, the NJ residents.
