For years now, my family and I in JP Nagar 2nd Phase have lived in a state of anxiety and fear. Our housemaid, along with several neighbors, have been repeatedly bitten and attacked by stray dogs that roam our streets day and night. It’s disheartening and terrifying to live in a community where stepping outside can result in injury and trauma.

We, the residents of JP Nagar 2nd Phase, have reported these incidents numerous times, yet our voices seem to echo in a void. The unchecked stray dog population has turned the neighborhood we once cherished into a potentially perilous place. Children are confined indoors, elderly members cannot enjoy a peaceful walk, and we constantly live under the looming threat of an attack.

This is not just an inconvenience; it’s a serious public safety hazard. Stray dog attacks have caused injuries, instilling fear and anxiety among residents. As per reports, canine attacks are on the rise in urban areas like ours, causing both physical and emotional trauma to affected individuals, particularly vulnerable groups such as seniors and children.

To address this growing crisis, we urgently need a comprehensive and humane stray dog management plan. It is imperative to:

1. Conduct a thorough census and mapping of the stray dog population in JP Nagar 2nd Phase.

3. Training and deployment of dog catchers to safely relocate aggressive strays to shelters.
