ISLAND CONSERVATION POISONS CATS TOO!!!
Island Conservation uses Bell Laboratories' anticoagulant rat poison to kill cats on other islands, and you can read a portion of one of Island Conservation/Bell Labs rat and cat eradication plans in the photo attached to this post. A link to the full report is listed in the links below. This plan is from Island Conservation's rat and cat eradication project on the island of Floreana in the Galápagos Islands, and it champions the killing of these cats through secondary poisoning from them eating the contaminated rats from their first poison drop by helicopter, and then killing the surviving cats through primary poisoning using sausage flavored baits from a subsequent poison drop.
The cats killed by these anticoagulant rat poisons suffer the same long and excruciating deaths as the rats. The birds there, and on the Hawaiian island of Lehua, do too.
