The Issue

Across the country, people are reaching a breaking point.

After the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal immigration officers in Minnesota, communities have taken action. Workers, students, small businesses, unions, and families participated in an economic blackout on January 23 — and it worked. Thousands marched. Hundreds of businesses closed. The message was clear.

Now, that action is going national.

Activists are calling for a National Shutdown on January 30:

No work
No school
No shopping

This is a peaceful, collective act of resistance. It uses the only leverage ordinary people have: our labor and our spending.

Immigration enforcement has escalated to the point where people are afraid to go to work, take their kids to school, or move freely in their own communities. Families are being torn apart. Lives have been lost. Silence is no longer an option.

A National Shutdown is not about chaos.
It is about solidarity.

When workers stop working and consumers stop spending, leaders are forced to listen. This is how change has always happened — from labor rights to civil rights to basic protections for human life.

We are calling on people across the United States to add their name in support of the National Shutdown and stand with communities demanding accountability, safety, and an end to violent immigration enforcement.

No work.
No school.
No shopping.

Add your name to call for a National Shutdown.
