ADD SRA TO THE DSM TO SUPPORT SURVIVORS

The Issue

As a survivor of trauma who experienced Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA), I'm reaching out with an urgent plea for greater recognition and support for individuals who have endured this harrowing experience. Satanic Ritual Abuse is a form of organized, systematic abuse that can have devastating physical, emotional, and psychological effects on its victims. Yet, it often remains shrouded in silence and denial, leaving survivors without access to the crucial support services they desperately need.

The first step towards change is acknowledging the reality of SRA. Currently, there is no specific classification of Satanic Ritual Abuse in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), which is pivotal for health professionals who are seeking to diagnose and treat survivors. By adding SRA to the DSM, we can begin to remove the stigma and validate the experiences of countless victims. This recognition would encourage more comprehensive research into the abuse and assist in developing targeted treatment plans.

In tandem with this, we must implement dedicated support services for SRA survivors. Specialized counseling services, hotlines, and community-based programs could offer a safe space for victims to share their stories and begin the healing process. Financial resources should also be allocated to train professionals who work closely with survivors, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and sensitivity required to assist effectively.

According to studies published by various trauma-focused research institutions, survivors of ritual abuse experience higher levels of PTSD, depression, and dissociation. The lack of official acknowledgment can exacerbate these conditions by leaving survivors feeling isolated and invalidated. This further underscores the need for professional therapeutic support and community awareness initiatives.

By signing this petition, you can help amplify the voices of SRA survivors and push for the necessary changes within the health community and beyond. Together, we can pave the way for tolerance, understanding, and healing. Please join me in urging health authorities to recognize Satanic Ritual Abuse within the DSM and to create supportive infrastructures for those who have suffered. Your signature can make a difference in the lives of many.
