Add my mother's beloved dog (Gunner) to Fortnite
The Issue
I want to add my mother's dog, Gunner, to Fortnite as a new companion.
My mother is an extraordinary and kind person who loves the game Fortnite and lost her very beloved dog, Gunner, this year. I think we can make a true difference in her life and happiness if we get him immortalized into this game.
About my mother.
She is a teacher, has been for well over a decade now. We just moved awhile ago and she had to change school districts, but she's always been THAT teacher. The teacher that students will come visit once they've graduated. The teacher students cry about when they leave. The teacher that keeps in contact with those who need her. THAT teacher. We all had one, right? Even in a new school she immediately slipped into her role. She's used to teaching high schoolers, but has quickly adapted to middle schoolers, finding new and engaging ways to keep them focused on the information she is providing while also making sure they're understood and heard. Parents love coming to meet. I believe this is all incredible, especially considering the fact she has lymphedema and standing all day can be difficult. But she does it, and her students are a reflection of her attentiveness and care. When she comes home she still finds the energy to check on all of us, her sons, before then finally taking a moment to relax. And, based on what I am trying to do for her, I'm willing to bet you can guess how she relaxes. How did she even get into Fortnite, you may ask. Well, she has 3 sons... and let's just say for a while it was all we would talk about, and regularly urge her to try. When she first agreed to play we were ecstatic! She started just as chapter 2 started, wild to think that it's been several years since then, right? Well, she's been a regular player since then, and nowadays she plays even more than us as our interests have changed. But sitting down and playing a duos or squads match with our mother is still a fun, rewarding time that we make sure to do every so often. She makes the game special. She makes everything special if I'm being honest. She took a long break after her best friend, our dog, passed. She's gotten back into it though and I know that if we can make this happen it will mean EVERYTHING to her. So please share my posts and spread this as far and as wide as possible. Sign the petition.
About Gunner.
Gunner was the family dog but he was absolutely a momma's boy. She adored him, and he adored her. We called him her shadow, despite how large he was he would follow her EVERYWHERE. When he got older and had a harder time getting up he would still do his absolute best to follow her, even if she was just leaving the room to get a quick drink he had to try to be there. We got him a "help em up" harness that is now hung in her office to continue to keep him as mobile as possible. Unfortunately, in May of this year, he had a stroke and did not make it. It was the hardest day for my mother, it was hard for all of us. He was a fantastic dog, we couldn't have asked for anything better. He was loyal, goofy, and so dang cute. He was a Newfoundland mix with a large floofy coat and a white streak on his chest. He had the most adorable brown eyes I've ever seen.

He was always with her.

He loved being outside. We live up north and he couldn't get enough of outdoor time all year long.
