As a parent of children who are non-verbal children with special needs, I am deeply concerned about the safety and well-being of all students in special education classrooms. My children, like many others, are unable to communicate if they are experiencing distress, discomfort, or harm in their school environment. This inability to speak makes it extremely challenging for parents like myself to ensure their safety and well-being when they are out of our sight.

Reports of incidents in classrooms where children with special needs are involved continue to circulate, creating fear and anxiety in parents about what might happen when they are not present. Without proper monitoring, children who are already vulnerable due to their disabilities are at a heightened risk for neglect or abuse.

By installing cameras in special education classrooms, schools can provide an extra layer of security and accountability. These cameras would not only give parents peace of mind, knowing their children are safe, but they would also act as a deterrent against any potential misconduct from occurring. Educators and staff working in such environments would be held to the highest standards of professional conduct, thereby ensuring the nurturing and safe atmosphere these children deserve.
