#Ich_wurde_geHORNBACHt
Hi,
I'm Sung Un. It's only day 5 of the campaign and already more than 15,000 people from the whole world signed this petition.
Thanks to your participation, our voice for Asian Women's dignity in Western media is getting louder and louder. News agencies incl. dpa and AFP reported about your action, and HORNBACH is facing a huge crisis of public image.
You can sense how uneasy the company has become: HORNBACH called for a so-called "open dialogue" on March 28, 2019. They dared to set the deadline for participation as early as March 29, 2019. Do you think it is fair? I don't think so.
Thanks to a petitioner, I could read the response of the company sent to people who asked for a readjustment of the schedule. HORNBACH bluntly set the "open talk" for the April 1 at their headquarter in Bornheim bei Landau. It's Monday. The company is staging the meeting so that they can send yet another press release saying "we tried our best but nobody was here." They are not really interested in listening to us. They only set up the show for the people that they concern the most: the unsettled investors of the company.
Meanwhile, there is the first sign of internal crisis in this mishap: On March 29, 2019, Guido Heffels, creative director of this racist and misogynic campaign, admitted that the vending machine took reference from Asia, especially Japan. Only 4 days ago, the company denied that the city had anything to do with Asia. The company and the PR-Agency seemed to have agreed on different things, don't you think so, too?
Let's make them see the challenge and remove the ad from all channels.
For that, I need your help: Translators and PR experts, Act up! Help Asian women to protect their dignity in media and everyday lives.
Send me the translation to: gehornbacht@posteo.de
Thanks!
Sung Un
