Dear Sirs/Madams,
We, as pharmacists, acknowledge the importance of having a good level of English proficiency in order to work as pharmacists in the UK. Therefore, we must pass either IELTS or OET exams. It is worth mentioning that those exams are extremely expensive and are made in a way not to focus on language proficiency rather than time and stress management. It is not fair for any health professional to repeat all four subtests if he/she fails in one of them. As a result, We would be grateful if you could re-evaluate the possibility of accepting the combination of two OET tests so the applicant will have a grade of B or above in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
You, as General Pharmaceutical Council, care more about the fairness of obtaining a grade B or above in the four subtests because that means that the applicant has the proficiency to live and work as a pharmacist in the UK.
In view of the above, please consider the above-mentioned request to accept the combination of two OET test results as a condition to be registered as a pharmacist in the UK.
We, as pharmacists from the world, thank you very much if you accept this justice decision; and we would love to serve and support the health system and NHS in the UK.
Yours faithfully
Pharmacists
