Accelerate NH48 road construction
Accelerate NH48 road construction
The Issue
Every day, thousands of commuters, transport operators, emergency vehicles, tourists, and local residents face severe traffic congestion on NH48 between Thane and Gujarat
What should be a journey of a few hours often turns into an exhausting and unpredictable experience due to prolonged road construction, lane closures, poor traffic management, damaged service roads, and inadequate public communication regarding project timelines.
While we support infrastructure development and road upgrades, citizens deserve transparency, accountability, and efficient execution of these projects.
We respectfully request the concerned authorities to:
Publish clear project completion timelines for all ongoing NH48 construction works.
Deploy additional manpower and machinery to accelerate road construction activities.
Implement better traffic diversion plans during construction.
Repair and maintain service roads to reduce bottlenecks.
Provide weekly public progress updates on project milestones.
Increase traffic police deployment at major congestion points such as Ghodbunder Road, Fountain Hotel Junction, Chinchoti, Manor, and Charoti.
Establish a public grievance and reporting mechanism for NH48 commuters.
Prioritize completion of critical stretches that experience the highest traffic volumes.
This issue affects economic productivity, public safety, emergency response times, fuel consumption, and the quality of life of millions of residents and travelers.
We urge the authorities to take immediate action and ensure that these infrastructure projects are completed as efficiently and transparently as possible.
The Mumbai-Gujarat corridor is one of India's most important transport routes. Citizens are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for timely completion of public infrastructure projects and effective traffic management while those projects are underway.
