Can you help our campaign to #saveoursuper a number ways below? Like chip in the cost of a cup of coffee to make sure our kids get to enjoy a coffee in their own house one day, not be left without any inheritance because it went to greedy aged care providers?

As little as $5 donated to change to promote this petition can help us push back against the rich and powerful aged care lobby industry getting a super and inheritance tax into the May budget. Or you can help other ways below. Why do we need help so urgently ?

The treasurer Jim Chalmers will release his budget in May and the pre budget media to soften up the public to accept an #agedcaretax is in full sway.

Like this opinion piece in the Australian financial review that argues there is “no good reason” older retirees shouldn’t be forced to tap their super! “Time to force wealthy retirees to tap their super to pay for aged care”

What planet do these guys live on? Unfortunately this sort of sound bite works which is why for years the aged care industry pay millions to lobbyists to help get what they want.

Anne Connolly from ABC news (who broke the story that led to the royal commission) commented on this uneven public narrative

However, when the government released its taskforce report last month recommending a massive change to aged care policy, including that self-funded retirees pay extra, it was industry lobbyists who were out in front spruiking the reforms to the media.

That meant there was no public debate around issues such as who would be asked to pay more, how much more would they need to pay and whether the extra funding would be used to employ more nurses and carers. “ABC news

Can you spare the cost of a cup of coffee to help our campaign ? If you can spare a few dollars to support this campaign on change it really helps it get across more people’s radar. Just click promote here https://www.change.org/handsoffoursuper

If you can’t pls help other ways to even up the info the public sees not just what aged care providers want them to .

1/ Keep telling everyone you can about this petition - person on the phone, email text and social media (use the #bold hashtags in this email) about this super and #inheritancetax and why it’s such a bad idea. Show them articles like this by respected investigative journalist Ann Connolly and someone who would know, 78-year-old Margaret Walsh who was IN the aged care taskforce and wasn’t even consulted before the final report was changed!  Seeing what she saw is why she supports our petition because she knows we are right.

2/ Write a letter to the editor of mainstream media and why you support our petition. Want ideas what to say? Check out what several aged care advocates in Aged Care Reform Now (who support this petition) say here https://agedcarereformnow.com.au/taskforce-report-on-aged-care-funding-leaves-more-questions-than-answers/

3/ Contact your local member and say why you won’t support a super and inheritance tax to fund aged care. Remind them you care about older people in their electorate and that you and others will decide their votes over who does the best job with aged care and who votes against this tax! Find your federal members here https://www.aph.gov.au/senators_and_members/members

5/ Contact the two main opposition parties aged care senators. This is Senator Ann Ruston (contact info here ) and also Senator Penny Allman Payne (info here ) the shadow aged care minister and greens aged care spokesperson.

Want to help our campaign itself? Or know media who can help? You can contact me via this email communications@aachealthgroup.com.au

We CAN stop this super tax going straight to greedy providers. The time is now or never though so please help any way you can and help all of us have quality aged care that doesn’t steal from the next generation.

Thank you for your help. You are making more of a difference than you know. Please keep up your efforts and keep going!
