Today our community group met and has made a list of four requests we ask the School Committee to seriously consider and take positive action on during the discussion on the process for replacing the School Superintendent. (1) We request that the AB Regional School Committee conduct a robust national search to get the best permanent Superintendent. (2) In order to attract the best candidates in a national search, we believe an Interim Superintendent should be appointed who should not be eligible to be a candidate for the permanent position. (3) We request that the School Committee reinstate the qualifications used during the Superintendent search of 2008-2009 which hired Superintendent Mills. (4) We encourage the School Committee to have very strong community representation on the Superintendent Search Committee.
