I am a student who had to endure an excruciating 40-minute wait just to use the bathroom, even after asking for permission. This is due to the Smartpass system implemented in our schools, a system that is supposed to manage student movement but instead causes unnecessary delays and discomfort.

In London, Kentucky, many students like me are experiencing similar issues daily. The Smartpass system not only restricts our basic rights such as using the restroom when needed but also disrupts our learning process by causing avoidable interruptions.

According to a survey conducted by American School & University Magazine, over 60% of students reported that their learning was interrupted due to delayed or denied bathroom breaks (American School & University Magazine). Moreover, health professionals agree that holding it in can lead to serious health problems such as urinary tract infections and kidney problems (American Urological Association).

We believe it's time for change. We call upon the school administrators and education authorities of London, Kentucky to abolish this restrictive Smartpass system from our schools. Let's prioritize student welfare over rigid regulations.
