Abolish the Right to Work Law in Georgia

Abolish the Right to Work Law in Georgia
The Issue
As someone deeply invested in the success of union jobs, it has become increasingly clear that Georgia's Right to Work Law is obstructive to union activities. Union jobs should, indeed, be available exclusively to union members. Unfortunately, Georgia's law negates this principle, preventing unions from bargaining contracts that require members to pay dues as a condition of employment.
According to Economic Policy Institute research, right to work laws have resulted in a 3.1% reduction in wages for workers, blunting the vitality of unions and curtailing their ability to advocate for employee rights effectively. Furthermore, the income gap in states with such laws is significantly larger. On average, the top 1% income earners in right to work states make 45 times more than the bottom 99%, compared to a 26 times difference in others (source: Center on Budget and Policy Priorities).
It is critical, for both the reinforcement of unions and the fortification of workers' rights, that we challenge the Right to Work Law in Georgia. Join us in promoting this change, to lend strength to union activities and fairness to job markets. Sign our petition today to push for the abolition of Georgia's Right to Work Law.
