Abolish the Perpetuity Clause in Time Share Contracts

The Issue

I am a time share owner burdened by a perpetuity clause, an unfair stipulation that allows companies to pursue my family for payments even after my death. This is not just about me; this issue affects countless individuals who are trapped in similar contracts.

Time share companies have been exploiting this perpetuity clause, creating undue stress and financial strain on families. It's an unjust practice that needs to be addressed urgently. The perpetuity clause essentially means these contracts never end, passing on from generation to generation like an unwanted inheritance.

According to the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), there are approximately 9.6 million households in the United States that own one or more types of vacation ownership products (2016 data). Imagine how many of them could potentially be affected by this perpetual liability.

We need legislation that protects consumers from such predatory practices and ensures fair terms in time share contracts. We call upon lawmakers to abolish the perpetuity clause and free us from these unending obligations.

Please sign this petition and join our fight against such exploitative practices in the time share industry.
