Abolish Requirement for Parking App for Overflow Spaces in HOA Communities
Abolish Requirement for Parking App for Overflow Spaces in HOA Communities
The Issue
My name is Andrea Madonna, a proud resident of the Woodlands at Greystone, an area known for its camaraderie and community spirit. However, in our beloved community, the Homeowners Association (HOA) has recently imposed a new regulation mandating the use of a parking applicational tool by all residents, their guests, and family members to utilize overflow parking spaces. Residing in this community, I have personally experienced how this decision overlooks the resident's opinions and imposes unfair constraints on our lifestyle.
Research reveals that only about 19% of smartphone users download any apps in a month, with many citing privacy concerns (Pew Research Center). The introduction of this application needlessly complicates a process that was once straightforward and excludes those who are technologically challenged or concerned about their privacy.
In addition, this measure feels impersonal and devalues the input of us, the residents who make up this community. No consultation was made prior to the implementation of this requirement and it seems that the HOA board, despite having a resident representative, does not take into account the views of its residents.
We deserve to have our voices heard and our opinions respected. Let us leverage this petition to rally our fellow community members and incite a reconsideration of this unnecessary rule. The abundance of communal spaces should be accessed without the burden of an app and without our community spirit being compromised. Sign this petition for a fairer HOA and a stronger community spirit in West Chester.
