Abolish property tax in Texas.

The Issue

**PETITION TO ABOLISH PROPERTY TAXES IN TEXAS**

We, the undersigned residents of the great state of Texas, hereby petition our state government to take immediate action to abolish property taxes. Property taxes have become an unbearable burden on homeowners, renters, and businesses across Texas, forcing many to lose their homes, struggle financially, or abandon their dreams of homeownership.

**Why Property Taxes Must Be Abolished:**
1. **Unfair Burden on Homeowners:** Property taxes disproportionately affect working families, retirees, and those on fixed incomes, who often face rising tax bills despite stagnant or limited incomes.
2. **Loss of Homes:** Many Texans are at risk of losing their homes due to their inability to keep up with skyrocketing property tax bills.
3. **Economic Strain:** High property taxes stifle economic growth, discourage investment, and make it harder for businesses to thrive.
4. **Inequitable System:** The current property tax system places an undue burden on middle- and lower-income families, while failing to address the root causes of rising property values and tax rates.

**Our Demands:**
1. **Abolish Property Taxes:** We call on the Texas Legislature and Governor Greg Abbott to eliminate property taxes entirely and replace them with a fairer, more sustainable form of revenue generation.
2. **Protect Homeowners:** Implement policies that ensure no Texan loses their home due to an inability to pay property taxes.
3. **Create a Fair Tax System:** Develop a tax system that prioritizes the needs of working families, retirees, and small businesses, while ensuring adequate funding for essential services like education and infrastructure.

**We, the undersigned, demand action now.** Property taxes are pushing Texans to the brink, and we cannot wait any longer for relief. We urge our elected officials to listen to the voices of their constituents and take immediate steps to abolish property taxes in Texas.
