The Issue

We acknowledge and respect the importance of education in creating opportunities and shaping futures. Current statistics show that in the United States, out-of-state students typically pay approximately $15,000 more than in-state counterparts for tuition annually. Disturbingly, this bars some students from pursuing their preferred course or institution. These costs serve as barriers that prohibit students from acquiring knowledge, an essential public good which should be universally accessible. For the majority, studying out-of-state is not a luxury but a necessity, driven by factors like program availability, institutional prestige, or scholarship opportunities. Limitations on these opportunities due to inflated out-of-state fees contravene the spirit of education as a social equalizer. We request all relevant educational and legislative bodies to abolish out-of-state college fees, thus ensuring equal access to quality education for all, regardless of residency. Take a meaningful step towards creating a more inclusive educational environment - sign our petition today.
