Abolish caste based reservation everywhere and adopt merit based selection
The Issue
The caste-based reservation system, although initially introduced with the noble intention of uplifting marginalized communities and ensuring equal opportunities for all, has now become a source of division, perpetuating caste-based discrimination and hindering the progress towards a truly egalitarian society. Over the years, the reservation system has not only failed to address the root causes of social inequality but has also led to further discrimination and resentment among different sections of our society.
I believe that every individual deserves equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of their caste or social background. It is unjust to perpetuate a system that categorizes and differentiates people solely based on their caste, rather than their abilities, merit, and hard work. The reservation system, instead of fostering equality and inclusivity, has inadvertently created a sense of entitlement and dependency, undermining the principle of equal opportunity.
Abolishing the caste-based reservation system will not only promote meritocracy but will also ensure that all individuals have equal access to education, employment, and public services. It will foster a sense of unity, harmony, and shared responsibility among all citizens, transcending the boundaries of caste and promoting a more cohesive and progressive society.
While acknowledging the historical significance and the need for affirmative action to uplift marginalized communities, we must also recognize that the caste-based reservation system is not the most effective solution. It often fails to reach the most deserving candidates due to its flawed implementation, resulting in caste-based politics and creating animosity among different sections of our society.
We believe that it is essential to shift our focus towards empowering the marginalized sections of our society through quality education, skill development programs, and socio-economic initiatives that uplift individuals based on their abilities and needs, rather than their caste or social background.
By abolishing the caste-based reservation system, we will be taking a significant step towards building a truly equal society, where opportunities are based on merit and where every individual, irrespective of their caste, has an equal chance to succeed and contribute to the nation's progress.
