We all came back after the summer to find out that Bar One had closed with no notice and now there's discussion of closing the common room too. 

Abertay is growing yet they're essentially closing an entire building of our already small university. This not only impacts students wanting to study in the library who are now affected even more by overcrowding but also students looking for social spaces and on campus dining options. 

Furthermore, societies or any events which require larger spaces to meet now have no alternative venue. This may lead so some societies and their events no longer being possible. 

We therefore urge you as the student body to make your voice heard by signing this petition so that we are able to approach those responsible as a united voice. We hope this will mean that they will realise that they shouldn't be cutting student spaces and that the effect of doing so is felt throughout the university. We want student spaces to be invested in to be made better - not continued to be shut down through every round of budget cuts.
