Aberdeen Council-Fly The Palestinian flag-For Palestinian Solidarity
The Issue
Request for the Palestinian Flag to be Flown in Marischal Square
Dear Aberdeen City Council
We are writing to respectfully request that the Palestinian flag be flown in Marischal Square in recognition of the ongoing struggle of the Palestinian people for peace, justice, and self-determination. As a city that prides itself on inclusivity, human rights, and global solidarity, we believe this symbolic gesture would demonstrate Aberdeen’s support for peace and for the principles of justice and equality that are vital to ensuring lasting peace in the region.
The Palestinian people have faced decades of hardship and bloodshed. It is vitaly important to show solidarity with them in their pursuit of human rights, peace, freedom and dignity.
Flying the Palestinian flag in Marischal Square would not only acknowledge their ongoing struggle but also send a message of hope and solidarity to those seeking peace and justice across the globe.
We are very hopeful that Aberdeen City Council will consider this request as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting international understanding and solidarity.
Yours sincerely
