A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
The Issue
🇺🇸 On June 15, 2026, in Kharkiv, the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv Region responded to emergency calls, as they did every day, often several times a day. But on this day, the ENTIRE response crew lost their lives. The commander was wounded and succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
This is an unimaginable tragedy, both professionally and, above all, on a human level. Many of them were not only comrades-in-arms but also close friends. Yet life does not stop. We must keep moving forward. Those who lost their comrades had to get up the next day and take their place on the line once again.
When I sent my sincere condolences to one of the firefighters (through a friend), my friend wrote back: "He was deeply moved when I passed on your message. I told him that people are thinking about him and the team, even from far away, not only in Kharkiv. He expressed his profound gratitude."
I didn't realize it would mean so much to him. But it did: it means they are not forgotten. And that is why I started this initiative: to give strength and hope—to help them find the strength to keep going and endure.

🇺🇦 Oleksandra Shchebilova, a 21-year-old firefighter-rescuer, suffered critical injuries and lost her right arm
🇺🇦 Ruslan Yuriiovych Novohatskyi, firefighter-rescuer, is currently hospitalized in serious condition

2026 június 15-én Harkivban a Harkiv Megyei Állami Katasztrófavédelmi Szolgálat 6. számú állami tűzoltó- és mentőegysége mentéshez vonult ki, mint minden nap, többször is. Ezen a napon azonban a TELJES bevetési egység életét vesztette. A parancsnok megsebesült, és később a kórházban halt meg.
Ez elképzelhetetlen tragédia, mind szakmailag, de főleg emberileg. Sokan közülük nem csak bajtársak, de barátok is voltak. Azonban az élet nem áll meg. Menni kell tovább.
Amikor őszinte részvétemet küldtem az egyik tűzoltónak egy barátomon keresztül, ezt írta vissza a barátom: "Nagyon meghatódott, amikor átadtam neki az üdvözleted. Elmondtam neki, hogy az emberek gondolnak rá és a csapatra, messze is, nem csak Harkivban. Mély háláját fejezte ki."

🇺🇦 Ruslan Jurijovics Novohatszkij, tűzoltó-mentő, jelenleg súlyos állapotban kórházban ápolják.
