Marvin Williams was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole at the age of 21 he has been incarcerated for over  36 years now there are  new laws such as youth offender and the elderly law  Marvin is submitting a commutation application to the office of the Governor of California Gavin Newson In hopes that he may receive a reduction of his sentence and a opportunity to go before the Parole board to give insight on his growth and accomplishments while being incarcerated To name a few he has earned  many certificates and has taken  Self Help classes ,college courses and has been a mentor with at risk youth which is something he would like to continue upon his release if given a second chance  today Marvin  stand as a new man if  given the opportunity I know he will be a productive citizen I felt in my heart to start this petition not only for Marvin  but for his two adult children his grandchildren and his  siblings who has been praying that someday he may be a free man  having such a loving and supportive family and with all of Marvin hard work I believe he will  be a productive citizen if given a second chance
